Advanced Retail Management Systems offers comprehensive training courses that help you get the most from your Point of Sale System. Training topics range from entry level to advanced: inventory entry, purchasing-receiving, point-of-sale to merchandising and advanced administration. Our certified trainers have extensive retail and management experience. Training topics and solutions are presented in a ’real-world’ fashion typically using a customer’s data.

For initial training, we offer two types of scheduling for projects based on your needs. Structured Projects are designed for customers that have a fixed date to ’go live’ (be fully operational using point-of-sale) or for customers that are doing an inventory conversion that requires a fixed implementation schedule. A Flexible Project is designed for customers that need the basic training to get started entering Inventory but want the flexibility of scheduling dates for additional training sessions based on their company’s progress.

We also offer on-going or refresher training courses to quickly bring new employees up to speed and to ensure that infrequent activities such as physical inventories go smoothly. On-going training courses are organized in collegiate fashion making it easy to choose the best topics for your needs. Click here to view a sample training catalog.

Setting up a training appointment can be done online or as easy as calling us at 303-738-1800 or emailing us at Training@Armsys.com.

Retail Pro 8

Offline Mode
Workstations accessing Retail Pro over a network depend on the program and data files stored on the network server or master workstation. To address the issue of a server failure, Retail Pro’s Offline Mode allows Point Of Sale stations to continue to make sales. Once the server or master workstation is running again the data is synchronized with the server or workstation.

Price Cost Manager
Retailers often need to change merchandise prices or costs for things like sales events or to increase sales of slow moving merchandise. Using Price Manager you can conveniently mark up or mark down the prices or cost of selected items or styles. The price change can take effect immediately or at a future date, former prices can be restored, if needed.

Report Groups
It is likely that you always run certain reports at a given time or when looking for particular information. The report group feature lets you group such reports and run them as a batch, therefore making the process much more convenient. Additionally, report groups can be scheduled to run automatically through Retail Pro’s scheduler.

The many report categories were designed to assist you with your business making decisions. For example, journals typically report information from history and order documents on a document by document basis. Journals can chronicle your sales, receiving, and transfer history as well as your current orders.

Journals can be targeted in many ways, you can generate a journal that includes only cancelled receipts or one that reports only layaways that are past due. There are 3 other types of reports; Merchandise, List and Summaries. Call us to find out more.

ARMS E-mail Training
This will allow you to send information between stores without Internet e-mail. You may use it to remind locations about upcoming sales, price changes or any other important information.

Auto Utilities
Once trained on this feature of Retail Pro you can use it to automate many of your daily functions. Using at least 6 months of sales history you can use Auto Min/Max to have the system suggest minimum and maximum stock levels based upon sales history. Having min/max levels defined allows you to use Auto Purchase Orders and Auto Transfer Orders, which ends the need for cycle counts.

Document Designer
Anything that can be printed from Retail Pro can be customized to meet your needs. You can add graphics to your receipts, your store name to your price tags or you can hard code instructions to your vendors on your Purchase Orders, just to name a few.

Data Verification System
The data files in Retail Pro act in many ways as a large database. Every database requires some degree of administration and requires a data administration tool for that purpose. Over time inconsistencies, errors and data corruption accumulates in all databases. Data Verification System (DVS) is used as Retail Pro’s database administration tool. DVS is a very powerful tool that should not be used without proper training.

Kits and Packages
Many retailers that should be using this feature of Retail Pro are not using it. Kits and packages offers two alternative methods for grouping, discounting and selling items together as a set.

E-Commerce Integration Solution (ECI)
The Retail Pro ECI Merchandiser enables a retailer the ability to exchange data between Retail Pro and their web store. Through this exchange of data it posts merchandise to the web store and brings web purchases directly into Retail Pro as sales orders, where they can be processed and fulfilled normally.

Without e-store integration, the retailer is required to maintain separate inventories, customer lists and orders. This duplication of efforts costs time and money and is error prone.

Stock Audit Tool
This is a set of steps for verifying inventory values, making necessary corrections and then reprocessing inventory so that inventory values and the transactional document history are aligned. This helps ensure that financial documents and tax statements are prepared in a timely and accurate manner. It makes it possible to maintain accurate margins and judge profitability as well as giving you the confidence to make intelligent purchasing decisions.

Physical Inventory
Using this tool you are able to get an actual count of the merchandise that is in stock. PI counts are then used to confirm or correct the On-Hand quantities in the inventory file. You can also record counts for a multi-store location such as a warehouse, start physical inventory files for multiple locations, read current On-Hand values from inventory, read and edit counts before updating inventory, filter information while reviewing and much more.
